Family and Inheritance Law
Family and inheritance files have one thing in common: the dispute usually knots itself around a piece of real estate. Running these two areas together with property law is what makes it possible to see the whole file.
Under the Turkish regime of participation in acquired property, the value of assets acquired during the marriage is as a rule shared equally between the spouses; liquidation of the property regime is a separate action from the divorce and may be brought once the divorce judgment becomes final. An heir whose reserved share has been infringed may bring an action for abatement, within one year of learning of the infringement and in any event within ten years of the succession opening.
Divorce, liquidation of the matrimonial property regime, custody, succession and abatement claims.
